Welcome to Linton Family Musicians! Thanks for taking the time to visit our site. We are a family – Mom and Dad plus seven “kids” and two dogs – striving to live in harmony with each other (literally and figuratively). We’ve been making music together for a long time, but began sharing music in a concentrated way about ten years ago. We play piano, flute, violin, viola, cello, occasionally the guitar and celtic harp, and the steering wheel. We sing together – in the car.

The Linton Family, December 2007
We’ve provided music for lots of events in the Delaware Valley and beyond over the past few years – background music for parties and fundraisers, programs for retirement communities, churches, and special events, and full-service music for wedding ceremonies and receptions. We are available as an small ensemble or a string quartet. Our programs are interactive and rather spur-of-the-moment, and our audiences seem to really enjoy the mix of classical, sacred, and popular music interspersed with stories and jokes. We look forward to providing music for your special event!
Who We Are
- Mom and Dad (Alison and Jeff) are parents, boosters, and PR people. Dad works in software and Mom is a full time educator and administrator in the home.
- Susanna (25) is a labor and delivery nurse at our local hospital. She plays the piano and watches the books. In her spare time, she reads.
- Jean (23) is a telemetry nurse at our local hospital. She plays the flute and tells the jokes. ;-)
- Melody (20) is a student at West Chester University. She is in both the Pre-Med program and the Honors program. As part of Linton Family Musicians and the Linton String Quartet, Melody plays the cello.
- Hope (19) is a violinist and in her spare time turns leftover breakfast oatmeal into golden loaves of mouth-watering freshly-baked bread. She leads the Linton String Quartet in a continuous quest for excellence. She teaches violin and is currently a student at West Chester University.
- Eleanor (17) is a junior in high school and is an all-state violist. She prefers, however, to confine her artistic endeavors to pastels or the kitchen. We all enjoy the results. She participates in the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and Sinfonia Sacra, the youth orchestra at our church.
- B. J. (16) (short for Beverly Jeanette) is a freshman in high school and plays the violin. A gifted organizer, B.J. helps the rest of us stay on top of “inventory.” She is assistant concertmistress of Chester County Youth Orchestra.
- Isaac (11) is our sixth-grader who generally steals the show. He’s a violinist, and in his spare time he enjoys mowing the lawn, working with Dad, and playing soccer or basketball.

August 2008 at Tenth (L-R Susanna, Eleanor, Isaac, Melody, Jean, B.J., and Hope)
As a family, we attend Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA. Several of the girls are involved in Sinfonia Sacra, Tenth’s youth ensemble, and Hope occasionally participates in Tenth Chamber Players. Eleanor and B.J. are both a part of the West Chester Area School District’s Senior Strings. Our family has been volunteering at the Barclay Friends in West Chester since 1998, playing music (almost) weekly for the residents – many of whom have become our friends. Dear Alison,
I received the material about Hope and it was quite a joy to read about the accomplishments of God in the life of your family in general and Hope in particular.
May the Lord continue to guide, provide, and steward your lives for His glory. I’m praying for Jeff’s employment situation.
Blessings,
Ron
Dear Linton family singers, or musicians.
Love looking at the photos and reading the updates on the family. Miss you guys a lot, and look forward to driving by the next time we are in West Chester at least to wave or maybe stop in for a visit.
Do you have any recordings you can post online here. I would love to hear some of your work.
I will be checking back soon.
Hope, to see you soon, and keep up the good work.
Blessings,
Eugene Miller,
for the rest of the Family
Wow! You guys are famous now!!!
I was doing a search on google maps near you and saw a small dot on google maps that said “Linton Family Musicians” – was I surprised or what? Actually I shouldn’t be… with the skills of you all, I expect to see a Linton Family Hall of Fame some day. :) :) :)
